Native Peoples help light the way forward...

Buffy Sainte-Marie
If ever a person personified the guts skill and courage required to protect and preserve ones heritage Buffy Sainte-Marie without doubt could top the list...she is now in her seventies and her energy grows stronger by the day...her latest interview with 'Democracy Now' is outstanding and worthy of wide spread coverage...please have a watch and forward to your friends. Without doubt morally, based on her behaviour women lead the world...she was once on the banned list...but she stuck it out and won the respect of all those she touched.
Right now here in NZ we are battling the greedy on behalf of the needy, we are battling the criminal behaviour of the corporates, the money dealers and ex-money traders, who are widening the wealth and poverty gap and stealing from our kids [like Key and the Tulley mob] Buffy Sainte-Marie lights the way toward once again developing a society worthy of the name, 'Caring, honest and democratic'...

Bryan Gould reveals Prime Minister's SPY controlling the GOVERNOR GENERAL!

Bryan Gould.

Read this and you may think it could mean that the Herald has at last developed a 'backbone' and is using Bryan Gould's highly intelligent article as a way of condemning the PM's and G.G. behaviour, or lack of action is a cunning if not gutless indicator of now low the Herald has sunk.

Using Bryan Gould in an guest investigative journalistic role...would allow the 'Herald' to pretend it is an still an independent news outlet when it is in fact little more that a national party mouth piece.

Bryan's item is well worth a read...I think the Herald is becoming more and more concerned by the massive growing numbers opposing the PM's dictatorial and psychotic irrational behaviour over the TPPA

Anne Hunt complains about police behaviour to IPCA...

Yet again, the Levin Police force, has overstepped their authority and have bypassed standard operational procedures to protect their past [possibly] illegal behaviour.
Anne Hunt ex Horowhenua regional councillor lays a complaint to the IPCA... not that doing so means that action will be quickly undertaken to investigate her complaint, after all she is not the PM or Cameron Slater who get their complaints acted on even before they are actually made. But we can all hope that justice will be done...and that the polices aggressive and over the top, red necked, stupidity will at last be revealed for all to see...Here is Anne's email message

Subject: Urgent IPCA complaint - Phil Taueki
Importance: High

This is to confirm that I have laid an urgent complaint with the IPCA.
Please therefore confirm that you have secured the master tape of an interview conducted with Philip Dean Taueki shortly before midnight on Wednesday 6 August, and all security footage at the Levin police station at that time.
The complaint is based on s23(4) of the Bill of Rights setting down the rights of persons detained, and this includes of everyone detained to refrain from making a statement.
It is particularly abhorrent that a well-established lay litigant due to appear in court the following morning should be woken shortly before midnight and taken out of the police cells for an interview about a matter that occurred on 23 October.
This was the day when the police responded in force with seven police vehicles because the owners had taken possession of their own building, as they are justified in doing pursuant to s57 of the Crimes Act 1961. This was also the day when three police officers including Sarn Paroli were forced to restrain a rower and her daughter who were charging at me, threatening to kill ‘that Anne Hunt’ and throwing stones that hit several of us. Mr Taueki was one of those hit by stones.
·         I should note that I have retained the letter Sarn Paroli sent to us in another matter to report the deletion of crucial CCTV footage in the Levin CBD area, when we had sought disclosure of this. This is the case where Justice Kos quashed a conviction because the police testimony was inconsistent with the amateur video footage we produced at trial. I therefore have every reason to be concerned that these latest tapes may also be destroyed.
·         I should note that I am the author of “The Foxton Murder”. The Gibson Group used my book as the basis for an episode in the series “Bungay on Murder”. The thrust of that book was the suppression of a confession to murder obtained from a person in custody under duress. The head of police criminal investigations at the time, Detective Chief Superintendent Mal Churches said the police had studied the Court of Appeal decision quashing a murder conviction and all police officers informed of its implications. Matters raised by the court would be included in police training and refresher courses. Since then BORA has been enacted.
·         Mr Taueki features in the television series Kaitiaki Wars which is currently screening on Maori Television. The opening episode features Mr Taueki’s arrest on obstruction and resistance charges after he parked his vehicle on his own land to prevent Horizons and NIWA launching unwashed boats on this privately-owned lake. Then Area Commander Pat Handcock referred this matter to the IPCA and these charges were withdrawn.
Please do not contact Mr Taueki.
His latest incarceration for 48 hours was based on a complaint of a bail breach by a prosecution witness. A witness has come forward to challenge these allegations.
Mr Taueki has no reason whatsoever to trust any member of the police force, and does not want them communicating with them in any way.
Cheers
Anne Hunt

Boycott Talley Brothers corrupt behaviour...

My first blog of the year, I hope you all had a safe and relaxing Christmas and New Year.

We're going to need you in 2016. Your contributions to locked out workers, for signing up to volunteer, for signing our petition, for telling ‘Talley's’ what you think helps give courage to these workers, as they continue to fight. They're going to need you, so get your friends and family to sign up to www.Jobsthatcount.org.nz [2] and stand together with them.

Here's Larry Haists quote of the day:

“A certain kind of rich man afflicted with the symptoms of moral dandyism sooner or later comes to the conclusion that it isn't enough merely to make money. He feels obliged to hold views, to espouse causes and elect Presidents, to explain to a trembling world how and why the world went wrong”. -Lewis H. Lapham, editor and writer (b. 8 Jan 1935)
Larry

Larry could have been talking about the Talley brothers’ hatred of their staff…and their desire to destroy democracy and the freedom of association.

Peter Grove also has a view on the Talley brothers’ corrupt behaviour and harassment of working people…he sent me the following in response to my item in this year’s first Wheelers Corner.

Peter Grove:
“Peter,
I agree implicitly with your comments re Talley’s. Talley is a blow in, from Eastern Europe who is no doubt enjoying his NZ Citizenship.
It is unlikely the country he hails from would countenance the dirty tricks he is using simply to get his own way. It is not helpful given NZ’s appalling employment record since the Douglas revolution, which instead of getting better is slowly deteriorating. Nothing, of course will be done as he is playing right into Kreyp’s hands.
With the advent of Chicken Little it seems Labour is a bigger spent force than ever before and is unlikely to ever be in a position to be able to reverse the fortunes of this country. I believe the movement to boycott all Talley’s products is a good one. (I have had my own one- man boycott, since the lockout of their workers at AFFCO plants some years ago). It seems to me that the Green Party is offering the most hope of salvation with their policies on a variety of subjects. I have confidence in James Shaw in his co-leadership role along with Metiria Turei. The majority of the party has demonstrated seriousness to governing not evident in many of the other parties, and among them there are some very deep thinkers who are able to put a completely different handle on the daily dross we are subjected to from our House of Representatives.
Some of the dribble that goes down in the various debates is an absolute disgrace. I believe the Nat’s entire mob is no more than a bunch of sycophantic followers unable and unwilling to voice their objections to some of the excesses being carried out under their noses. In my next post I will send you an item that describes the political classes for what they are.
Peter.
Here is the information supplied by Peter Grove from the Guardian: It makes really interesting reading especially the comments…check it out…and thanks Peter G.

Subject: Talley's workers will need you again in 2016

Kia ora --

All year [2015], workers in the Talley's owned AFFCO meat plants have been in a
struggle with their employer.  Their union, the MWU, tried to settle an agreement to replace the 2012 collective agreement which came after an 84 day lockout.

But in June, AFFCO Talley's began forcing their workers to give up their union pay and conditions by making it clear that not signing a new contract meant no job. Around the same time, Talley's lost two Employment Authority cases in other meat plants, where the health & safety of workers caused harm to worker. And Worksafe decided to prosecute
Talley's for a worker who was impaled on a meat hook at their North Island plant in Rangiuru.
In November, a full bench of the Employment Court found AFFCO Talley's had not only breached good faith and undermined the union, but had unlawfully locked out workers by forcing them to return to work on non-union agreements.  Around 200 Wairoa workers refused to go back on these conditions and despite the court ruling, are still without work.

When MWU went to court ordered mediation, the company refused to allow the nationally and internationally respected Helen Kelly, former President of the CTU to be in the room to help represent MWU members.

A week before Xmas, the company got silly about workers wearing their union t-shirts to and from work - nice green, peaceful t shirts that say "Jobs that Count".  Three workers were stood down for wearing them and another worker's job is on the line for videoing the intimidating actions of the manager in requiring workers to take off their t-shirts.

Two days before Xmas two of our outstanding workplace leaders, mothers and leaders, Bertie Ratu and Charmaine Takai were sacked for going to work early to talk to union members who were upset.  This came after three weeks on unlawful suspension without pay.

The problem for Talley's is that people are noticing. People up and down the country are now saying they will never buy Talley's products again. There are questions being asked in international supply chains. As we've found out frequently, Kiwis are not keen on companies that treat their workers badly.

2016 is going to be another year of it.  This wealthy family will appeal all court decisions and fight the workers every inch of the way. They will pick on union members and try to make out the blame lies with those who are part of the union.

So we're going to need you in 2016.

Police stuff-up yet again...

Cops stuff up yet again...Nicky Hager wins.

Our great protectors have done it again...broken the laws that they are meant to enforce. They illegally broke into a persons home, after giving false information to a Judge, and while there went through Nicky Hager's daughters underwear draw in their search for god knows what: It would appear that in the rush to appease the present government and especially the PM the Police will do whatever they are instructed to do without question. For it would seem that the law doesn't apply to them. This is a disgusting state of affairs and means that in real terms we are living in a unoffical dictatorship...if the police bosses simply do whatever the government asks them to do, or act illegally to please a hate blogger like Whale Oil [Cameron Slater] who has a very close relationship and contacts with the PM, as admitted by the PM] asks them to do...what hope is there for freedom...this from Matt Nippert of the NZ Herald.

Matt Nippert: Nicky Hager police raid ruling a win for journalism

"Nicky Hager's victory in the High Court today allows the fourth estate - especially its burgeoning offshoots both new and old - to breathe a sigh of relief.
Hager had claimed a police raid on his home last year - as part of an investigation to unmask vigilante hacker Rawshark who was the main source of blogger Cameron Slater's correspondence underpinning Hager's sensational book Dirty Politics - was unlawful.
While declining to make a ruling on whether the police investigation into the hack was deficient and could have been better progressed searching places that weren't Hager's home, Justice Denis Clifford appears to raise his eyebrow at the use of search warrants as fishing expeditions.
"I acknowledge some reasonable belief that they [Police] would discover evidence of the Source's identity. My concern is that reasonable belief, on the material I have been provided with, might better be characterised as hope," he says.
Hager's ultimately successful legal challenge was based on a complaint that police, in going through his daughter's underwear drawer, seizing more than a dozen storage devices, and turning his personal and professional life upside down, had ignored Hager's important legal rights as a journalist to protect his sources.
These rights are important to encourage a check on the powers-that-be, enabling information that some may consider secret or confidential to be aired if publishing or broadcasting is in the public interest.
Having been in contact with Rawshark while working for the Sunday Star-Times, and having reviewed much of the source material Hager used in writing Dirty Politics, I'm satisfied conclusions he reached were both accurate and newsworthy and definitely passed the public interest test.
At the nub of Hager's challenge was how far these rights of journalistic privilege extended. Their applicability to mainstream media sources, like this newspaper, has long been broadly accepted.
Police relations with traditional media, while occasionally frosty (see the recent standoff with MediaWorks over Story's controversial gun-buy) are usually cordial where search warrants are well-signalled and privilege accepted.
In the case of Hager his legal team had claimed - and Justice Clifford accepted - the Police had intentionally overlooked his journalistic credentials in order to get a judge to sign off on the search warrant.
In the warrant he was described as a "political author," and any possibility that he may have privileges to assert - over the identity of Rawshark or any other important stories he was working on - was ignored.
In effect Police had begun from the assumption that because Hager published his articles in book form and not a newspaper, and by himself as an independent and not for a major news organisation, he did not measure up.
The dismissal of this argument, in effect granting new media online and old media in book publishing the same ability as mainstream media organisations to proudly carry the rights and responsibilities that the tag 'journalist'.
Ironically enough, in separate proceedings, the target of Rawshark's hacking - Cameron Slater - is also engaged in arguments also trying to extend journalistic privileges: to bloggers such as himself.
Today's ruling helpfully confirms that, where the public interest test is met, authors - and bloggers - should all be entitled to wear that badge".

Is this family for real...you decide.

Crazy US gun family:

How would you like to get a Christmas card with this picture on it?

This card was sent out by an elected representative Michele Fiore [3rd adult from the left] who represents Nevada State…she is of course a Republican nut case.
Let me introduce you to a typical Republican Party family…a pen picture:
Michele Fiore
American Politician
Michele Fiore is a politician who has been a Republican member of the Nevada Assembly since February 4, 2013. Fiore, who represents Clark County Assembly District 4, is serving her second term.

This from Stuff:
Are they "just your ordinary American family" She posted her Christmas card to Facebook on Monday (local time) featuring her heavily-armed family smiling for the camera. "It's up to Americans to protect America," the caption read. "We're just your ordinary American family".
The caption was signed "with love and liberty".
Along with the usual Christmas decorations, the card shows seven members of the family holding weapons, including her daughters, Sheena and Savanah, and her mother Lill.

Grandchildren Jake, Jayden, Mara and Morrigan are also pictured. Jake, who Ms Fiore's website says is at least five, is holding a Walther P22.
A detail in the top-left of the card even lists the model of guns, they were:
1. Beretta 92FS,
2. Glock 30 .45ACP,
3. Serbu Super Shorty 12-gauge shotgun;
4. Extar EXP-556; Walther p22;
5. Glock 19 9 millimetre, and
6. Lastly a Glock 30 .45ACP.
Fiore is well-known in the US for her gun advocacy, and her Facebook page is littered with images of her posing with automatic weapons. In 2014 she made headlines for her comments during an armed standoff between a Nevada rancher and US federal agents.
"Don't come here with guns and expect the American people not to fire back," she said at the time.
The post was made only two days before 14 people were killed and 21 injured in a mass shooting in San Bernardino in California.
Fiore also posted a photo of herself holding a gun the day after the shooting.

PS; wasn’t it great to see Gran-Ma holding an automatic machine gun…every US gran-ma’s dream…so it would seem...George.W. Bush must feel so proud.

US Gran-Ma gets training to protect her house.
Seriously folks its no wonder that the US now has a mass killing event every single day of the year...in fact they make ISIS look like angels from heaven...

Listen to Radio NZ Sunday morning programme on what makes a terrorist...it is most enlightening...
